36th FITF announces nominees

Jury panel of the 36th edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival (FITF36) has announced nominees in different sections.

Nominees for Best playwriting Award are Vahid Mohammadi and Sina Shafiee for ‘Seasickness’ as well as Mehdi Ziachamani for ‘The Omissions’, both from Iran.

Christopher Rüping for ‘Hamlet’ from Germany, as well as Ashkan Khalilnejad for ‘The History Boys’ and Reza Servati for ‘The List of the Dead’, both from Iran, are nominated for Best Directing Award.

Contenders for Best Acting Award (male) are Valentijn Dhaenens for ‘Big Mouth’ from Belgium, as well as Morteza Esmaeil-Kashi for ‘Mephisto’ and Houtan Shakiba for ‘Oliver Twist’, both from Iran.

Katja Bürkle for ‘Hamlet’ from Germany, Elham Korda for ‘If You Die’, Mahsa Ghafourian for ‘The Omissions’, and Mahnaz Mirzaei for ‘Seasickness’, all from Iran received nomination for Best Acting Award (female).

Nominees for Best Stage Design Award are Ashkan Khalilnejad for ‘Boys of History’, Arash Dadgar and Reza Karamizadeh for ‘The Horse’, as well as Atila Pesyani and Amir-Hassan Davani for ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’, all from Iran.

Elham Shabani and Arash Dadgar for ‘The Horse’, Neda Nasr for ‘The List of the Dead’, as well as Zirzamin Studio for ‘Mephisto’, all from Iran got nomination for Best Costume Design Award.

Candidates for Best Music/ Sound Design Award are Valentijn Dhaenens for ‘Big Mouth’ from Belgium, Arman Parsian and Mohammad Eslami for ‘Mephisto’, as well as Navid Gohari for ‘Or Prometheus’, both from Iran.

The winners will be announced during a closing ceremony on Monday at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.

The 36th edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival has been slated for January 18-29, 2018, in Tehran.
